As promised, we are back with our favorite Portland restaurants. I’ll start with the most expected one, Fore Street. Fore Street is undoubtedly the most famous restaurant in the town, as its chef Sam Hayward won the James Beard award and they are credited for one of the first restaurants to really start the farm-to-table trend in the area. The chef’s menu changes daily to reflect what is best and freshest around. Come here for a solid, no-frills, delicious meal.
Next up, is Central Provisions. This restaurant fits into a perfect niche of delectable small plates that are great for sharing and fantastic cocktails. Its a casual and cozy spot with a bar downstairs to hang out with your friends after dinner to have more cocktails. Everything we tried here was delicious and the hang-out spot downstairs made us never want to leave.
Next up, Duckfat. Most home cooks know that little compares to potatoes cooked in duckfat, and the fries here are no exception. Do not miss the duck confit or the milkshakes!
Finally, Hugo’s. A place we stumbled into by accident, and remains the highlight of our trip. Get. The. Tasting. Menu. The nine course one. Thank us later.
Let us know if we have missed any of your favorites!
